Today was a beautiful day. It rained! I got home from work and struggled to stay awake while waiting for the plumber. When he got here, I opened the door to a symphony. The rain was breath-taking. My garden was grateful and so was I. When the plumber was gone, I crawled into bed and slept until 7:45 PM. Life is good......

Crisis averted

Well, the water guy finally came at 2:45. He said my regulator was stopped up and I'd need to call a plumber. He banged on it with a stick a few times and water started flowing through it. I didn't trust it enough to stay home so I went on to the gym. I will call the plumber when I get home in a few hours. Ah, the joys of home ownership!

I'm Thirsty

I hope this is the closest I will ever get to experiencing torture. I have no water. I was in the middle of taking a shower around midnight and then all of the sudden, the water pressure changed to a mere trickle. Now, I'm not talking about the trickle you experience when someone turns on the washing machine or flushes a toilet, I'm talking SERIOUS trickle. Not the trickle of a peaceful creek in the middle of a forest. I'm talking "make you want to use every cuss word you've ever heard" kinda trickle. I called the kind man at the Water Works around 12:30 AM and he said he would send someone out. I told him I was sure I had paid my bill. He just laughed at me. I also started to wonder if they knew I had been watering my garden on my "unauthorized" days. Well, all that said, no one came. I called another "less kind but equally cordial" man around 1:30 PM, told him my situation and he said he would send someone out.

What's worse, It's 2PM, I have to be at work by 5:45PM and I HAVE NO WATER. I'm going to have to resort to the unspeakable..... I'm going to have to go work out at the gym and then take a shower there. I know what you are thinking, "how can she do that?" But ladies and gentlemen, it's my last option. I just hope the water is back on in the morning because I'd really hate to have to go work out again!

Amazing Energy

My normal routine when I get home from work at 7:30AM.....
1. Take sleeping pill
2. Water garden (don't tell or I'll get fined)
3. Take shower
4. Set coffee maker for when i wake up
5. Dry hair
6. Watch a few minutes of the Today show
7. Fall asleep

Well, for some reason, I had a lot of energy yesterday morning. I did all of the above (except #7) and then I washed the window in my front door, dusted the living room, and even cleaned my roommates bathroom.

You see, my family is coming to town on Saturday for a Father's Day lunch. Next week will be a tough time for my family so I thought it would be good for everyone to get away from Atlanta for the day. I look forward to seeing my nephews... the cutest little boys in the WHOLE world.

I'm cooking lunch for everyone. This is exciting but stressful as well. I'm going to buy a grill this afternoon (as I sit at work and write this entry, it is 2:25AM). The menu LOOKS appealing but hopefully the outcome will be equally satisfying.

Wish me luck!

The Beach

I love being at the beach but I don't like being ON the beach. Sand gets in unforseen places and my tan is never quite right. However, I just spent three days at the beach with three of the funniest people I may have ever met.
